Korean pop idol Kim Hyun Joong of SS501 recently attended former South Korean President Chun Doo-hwan’s 80th birthday party, according to his agency DSP Media on Tuesday.
“Before attending a birthday party for [DSP agency CEO] Mr. Lee Ho-yeon, Kim stopped by the reception for former president Chun Doo-hwan with Mr. Lee”, an official at DSP Media was quoted as saying.
The official explained that Kim was scheduled to attend Lee’s dinner party with his bandmates but when Lee received a call from Chun’s party, the two briefly dropped by the event together. The agency stressed that “it had just happened” and asked that “there be no misunderstandings”.
Kim, 23, is the leader of boy band SS501, one of the most successful K-pop acts in Asia since their debut in 2005. The singer has also done some acting work, most notably in the smash hit drama “Boys over Flowers” last year alongside actors Lee Min-ho and Koo Hye-seon.

SS501′s KimHyunJoong’s professional spirit despite being casted with bandage is attracting about attention.
Not long ago, SS501′s new album Destination’s title track ‘Love Ya’ released its music video. In the music video, Kim HyunJoong was found out to be wearing a fabric like bandage behind his outfits, which made fans beginning to worry.
To this, SS501′s agency DSP Entertainment’s personnel spoke in an interview with Chosun, “Before HyunJoong shot for the music video, he was involved in a car accident, and because of that, he had to put on bandage before going for filming. Due to the car accident where their comeback stages have to be delayed about, he didn’t think it was being harsh on the body like this”, “Now his injuries are almost fully recovered, so it should not be of much disruption to their upcoming activities”.
SS501 diffused their charm through the air with powerful and impactful fashion trial highlighted with intensifying eye-power via June 4′s KBS2 Music Bank. Fans from all over asia including Japan came to wait before KBS Shinkwan Open hall on this day just to see them, which once again further proved their majestically majestic hanryu star status.

“Hello everyone. This is DSP Media.
SS501 Love Ya promotions has ended with effect from last week, June 13th. It’s a pity for Triple S that promotions were so short.
It felt like only yesterday when SS501 debuted through KMTV Show! Music Tank on June 8th, 2005. It has already been five years~
Like what all Triple S knows, SS501 members’ contracts had expired on June 7th, 2010.
During our preparations for this album, we had discussed about the length of promotions considering the contract expiry date. So we decided to keep promotions to within 2 – 3 weeks.
The SS501 members have not reached a conclusion regarding their future with the company. So we cannot give an official stand at the moment. We will announce their future once it has been finalized to Triple S.
We will produce a MV for the song Let Me Be The One from their Destination album, with footage from SS501 activities. It will be released in the middle of next week. We will announce a specific date in due time.
We are sorry for the short promotions and we hope that Triple S can soothe their feelings a little by enjoying the sight of SS501 in their Let Me Be The One MV.
We are really grateful to Triple S for helping SS501 to win the K-Chart twice.
